Happy 2005

Who would have believed that we’re halfway through this decade already?

Whoever.

Despite a possibly sombre start: A Happy New Year to everyone.

The atrium at Brent Cross Shopping Centre - NW London.

A brite colorful picture there. Another new year, I guess, to start on a sad note. Even 2004 did not start just as well. Remember the Iran Earthquake? Posted by: sat on January 3, 2005 06:11 AM
Best wishes to you Jag. Indeed it's a very sombre time and whatever happens here seems to be irrelevant so I'll be making no New Year Resolutions. My hope is that the tsunami victims can put their lives back together and recover from the disaster as soon as possible. Posted by: David on January 3, 2005 10:21 AM
wow! that is SOME atrium! quite dazzling! happy new year to you too! What do you do at lunch time jag? do you go out wiht your camera too? or do you work thru lunch? would love 2 see photos of slough queensmere shops/shops there? possible? Posted by: krissie on January 3, 2005 10:32 AM
Sat: thanks. Yes I remember the Iran Earthquake. In fact - there is another journal-writer who links here who wrote quite a thought-provoking piece on this "disaster" topic at: http://ethnictricity.typepad.com/urban_ethnictricity/2005/01/its_hard_to_rec.html - which reminded me that there have been disasters in the not too distant past that killed many more. David: Thanks. And like you: no resolutions. Just hope. Krissie: And to you too. Regarding lunch: Most days I usually have lunch with my laptop. Which means I'm so busy I can't take lunch - or else I grab a sandwich - or else I just microwave some soup which I got from Tesco on the way into work. HOWEVER: Occasionally I do wander out into Slough - and into the Queensmere - which is only a few metres away from my office - and I ALWAYS take my camera with me. So - the answer is yes _ I will try taking some more pics of Slough and Queensmere - especially for you! Actually - you're best off keeping track of my new photo-album at "flickr" - which is at http://www.flickr.com/photos/route79 - I even have a category of pictures labelled "Slough" - which I will keep adding to over time. Happy New Year, Jag. I was in London just before Christmas and saw a 79 bus; made me think of your site. Posted by: Not Responding on January 3, 2005 12:29 PM

It hadn't quite registered with me that you work in 'The Office' territory until I read these mentions of Slough! I enjoy your entire website. Posted by: suzoz on January 3, 2005 11:11 PM
Thanks Snappy, Stoppy and Not Responding! All the best to you. Susoz: yep - my office is in Slough. I'm trying to make the most of it though! Thank you for your nice feedback. Posted by: Jag on January 4, 2005 02:35 PM
