High Street Ken
It's been a while since Iast updated here - and for this I apologise. At the weekend just gone - I somehow managed to drag myself out of bed in order to confront a week packed full of work - and I'm glad I did so; as I think it did a lot of good to my body - which was weakened terribly by some nasty virus that knocked me out for the best part of last week. It's been nearly five years since I've suffered something like that - and although it was influenza then (I was out for two whole weeks!) this time I don't think it was as bad. Today my travelling adventures took me into the West End of London Town - and although I got caught in several snow-flurries along the way and back - I did manage to stop for a quick snap before diving underground for my journey home in tonight's freezing London temperature.

I vividly remember hearing the news. After the initial "No, it can't be true! Can it?" wore off I recall thinking that the way the world works her death would get much more attention than Mother Theresa's. (Mother Theresa was ailing at the time.)
And when she died five days later, my dire prophecy came true. How I wish it hadn't.

So what hit yout this time? The flu? Did it fly away finally?
You are having snow in London. It only seems to alternating between becoming colder and being warmer , as if the weather cannot make up its mind.
The station looks like an apparent fusion between modern architecture and some ancient Chinese curves to me.

Sivani: it truly was a sad time for all here in London. I have to admit that I did shed a few tears. I was one of the many hundreds of thousands who made a pilgrimage to Kensington Palace to lay flowers amongst the mountains already there. Some say it was "mass hysteria". If so - then I was one of the "hysterical" ones who lamented at the loss.
Krissie: I'm better now thanks! I saw Derry Street whilst there the other day! Amazing that you lived around there! It really is very "upmarket".
Jaina: thanks - I am better now. Your friend must either be very wealthy - or else must be living in a shoe-box. Kensington High Street is *very* expensive place to live in my book!
Sat: I don't think it was flu. And yes - it has gone now - whatever it was. You are right about it not being able to make up its mind - it has been snowing on and off for the last few days!
Not sure about the "Chinese" aspect to it though - this place is as "English" as you can get in terms of design. However - I would have to admit that most of Kensington is almost certainly "owned" by rich "foreigners" - especially middle-eastern folks! :-)
