I think I get the message Shobha! :-)
It tasted good too - especially with fresh roti - hot off the thawa - and some mild mirch achaar. Simply delicious.

You may not believe this...this is my fist visit to your blog and found this recipe...oh boy the photos got me good :o) -- I stuck out and visited the groceries and made it...it was turned out excellent..my roomies enjoyed it as well.
Good one mate...cheers

Rama: Nice one! Glad to be of help. Try some of the other recipes too - you could throw a big party for your roomies - and all your next door neighbour roomies as well! And if you do - take some pictures and email me - I'll put them up under the recipe itself.

Aloha,
Thanks for posting this recipe! I actually tried it this past week. It was quite tasty though I made some errors in choice of ingredients. Also, I couldn't find onion seed so I skipped that indredient. I will actually invite friends over next week and cook some of your recipes for them.
Would you believe there are no places to eat Indian food on the island where I live? On the plus side though, my friends are so desperate they will even eat my novice attempts!
Tonight I am making pakoras and hubby hasn't run off with the digital camera so I will have pictures. yeah :). Thanks again for the lovely recipes and great how-to photos
Oh btw - you can check out the 5/29 entry in my blog for more details on how the mirch masala turned out.

Aloha! :-)
I must say once again that I'm impressed!
Well - I am rather surprised that there's not a single Indian restaurant in Hawaii - now *there's* an idea for a business opportunity!
With practise - the novice becomes an expert though (my words of wisdom for today!) But having said that - being successful at pakoras, bhaturas and such like is very daring and almost like diving in at the deep end!
I saw the pic of the mirch-masala - and I also commented at your LiveJournal. Excellent!

Aloha,
There are Indian food places in Hawaii just not on the island that I live on. This island (island of Hawaii aka "The Big Island" is fairly rural with a tiny Indian population. So, I don't think anyone has thought to start an Indian food resturant. To bad :(.
