Ah: Nina Hossein
There is a quirky aspect of national television broadcasting in UK - especially on the terrestrial channels: BBC1 and ITV1. And it is this: when the national evening news programmes are being broadcast - e.g. the BBC 10 O'clock News - right at the very end of the programme - the "national" broadcast switches to "local" for around 5 minutes. The idea is that everybody in the country is watching the same thing for most of the programme - and then in the last five minutes the broadcast changes so that what you see for those five minutes depends on where in the country you are viewing the programme from. e.g. if you are watching in Birmingham you will get local "BBC Birmingham" news for the last five minutes. If you are in Manchester - you will get local "BBC Manchester" news for the last five minutes - and so on and so on.

Ha ha. I had to smile when I saw this Jag. I too enjoy the all too brief appearances of Hossein while I eat my breakfast. She always looks more awake/together than the ladies who do the travel updates ;-) And always so well attired...

Nice info on how the local news broadcasting works - Here we have one news channel, managed by the same broadcasting company for each of the South Indian languages, viz. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and so on; but the national news does get spread to all the languages.
P.S - hope Ms. 79 isn't reading this either. ;-)

It must be her beautiful eyes ... casting a spell on you guys :) A delicate waif like Asian version of Angelina Jolie, if I may say so!!

:) Hope she makes it to the National TV so that guys like me in South West can see her too!

Stu: Agreed - very well attired she is too.
Sat/Remi: She knows already. She switches channels at the end of the news these days! But she hasn't worked out how to set the Tivo yet!
Shobha: yes - she is really cute!
Ritu: I think you're right - it's the eyes for sure.
Chakra: you might be able to get London BBC if you use Sky? Otherwise you could always try moving home so that you are within range of her broadcasts?

So I'm not the only one enchanted by the lovely Nina. It's always disappointing when someone else is reading the London news.I do worry when I see her on the TV at 10.25 and get up the following morning to find her on again at 7.25.I do hope she's getting her beauty sleep.

Hi Dave - oh yes, you are most definitely not alone!
Do you know what - I haven't even thought about her beauty sleep - but now you mention it - I sure do hope she sleeps well!
Thanks for your comment - and I really hope that Nina drops by here someday ...

wow.., she looks much nicer in this snap with than with the slightly longer hair she has at the moment.

Hi "The Mullen" - I agree - she looks much nicer with shorter hair. Maybe we should ask her to get her hair cut.

I KNEW there would be a page about her somewhere on the 'net. Anyone remember her heavy eye make-up stage about a year ago - she looks much better now - very sexy.

Now that Nina is doing the ITN News us Londoners are going to have to share her with the rest of the country. She's no longer our little secret.I can't begrudge her the promotion but Breakfast TV will never be the same!
