Blondie and Me
Watched a documentary about pop-band Blondie late last night. (Yes - Blondie is the name of the band - not the name of the girl.) It was a documentary that was recorded on my Tivo from over a year ago - and I have watched it several times since - but I just cannot bring myself around to deleting it. This is because Blondie was one of my favourite sounds of my childhood. It was a Blondie record that was the first record I ever bought too. So, you can imagine that Blondie means a lot to me. So much so - that I dreamt about Blondie last night. It was a most pleasurable dream - I was a member of this most famous band - and I was performing alongside Debbie Harry (who was also my girlfriend) in front of massive, appreciative audiences as we toured and adventured around the world. I have to admit that this is a dream that I have occasionall. (I wonder if other people have similar types of dreams?) So, this morning - I hurriedly cobbled together a little multimedia anime of my favourite childhood band - with me in it. Click on the smilie to load and turn up the volume loud to enjoy. (And a warning to those of you who read this journal regularly: the image you see of me will probably destroy any mental image you may have had of me so far! Sorry about that!)Posted by jag at October 17, 2003 06:50 AM

new album out since 13/10/03 just in case you didn't know "The Curse of Blondie". I have never made that dream however I must admit that HR Giger has made a few painting of her which are absolutely marvellous. (HR Giger is the guy who designed alien which really pissed me off as no one knows him, know his work and he did alien 15 years after he started designing superb stuff. check more about HR Giger at http://www.hrgiger.com/ (content sex, nudity, morbidness) be prepared to be amazed.

What I meant to say is that it pisses me off to have to refer to HR Giger as the guy who designed "Alien". After reading it again, i realised that it might be a bit confusing. I hope its clearer now.

Hi Stephane - HR Giger sounds interesting - I checked out the site you referred to. I fully understand what you mean by being pissed off hearing him referred to as being the man who designed Alien. The Debbie Harry pic is fascinating - I have seen it before - but I really didn't know that it was designed by the same person who designed Alien. (Oops. Sorry.)
Am going to get the new album as soon as.

Amrita: I've always had a face - just not very often exposed online! Hope it didn't scare you too much - not a very good pic - I sometimes think I look like Frankenstien's monster in that cutout!

Actually, on a closer dekko, looks like you have a BIG black spider crawling on the right side of your forehead...does anybody see it?!? Or, it's just a trick of light?!?

Yes - I can see it. How it managed to get there without me noticing I have no idea!

Yeah...nice face :-). Now perhaps you'll start getting recognised on your commute, and people on the bus will start deliberately doing interesting stuff when they know you're looking, just so that they'll get their 15 minutes of fame on your blog. Hey! you might get a few groupies....

Sue: well I'm ultra confident that there are no ther Route79 bloggers - or even Route79 blog-readers. If I'm right - then I'll just always be just another bus rider. And as for groupies: well, in fact in a funny kind of way, *you* are my latest - and I am yours too! Wey-hey! :-)
