Pickled Peppers

There's was a conversation going on over at Burnt Toast last night. It started with the topic of pre-travel immunisation - and has sort of ended up on the subject of hot chillie peppers. In the conversation that ensued - someone mentioned a craving for those chillie peppers that you on top of your salad at your local kebab shop. I smiled epathically at this point - and popped downstairs to take a quick picture of a big jar of those at the back of my fridge:
There is the jar of those delicious "kebab" chillies in my fridge I couldn't resist taking one out of the jar to show off - a particularly good-looking knarly one
That big (catering size) jar cost around £1.99 from one of several Asian stores on my local High Street which sell stuff like this. It's probably where the local kebab shop owners get their supplies. Here is a web page of the jar in my fridge: http://www.bevelynn.co.uk/picklesantipastosfront.html

Those are they, Jag. But a peak of your particularly good-looking knarly one hasn't made me feel any better! A trip to downtown Peckham tomorrow should do the trick...

Thank you.

Hi Erica J - pleasure! If you have trouble getting hold of them in Peckham - then (although I haven't lived South of the river for a while now) I bet you could definitely get hold of them in Tooting - I recall a largeish Asian supermarket called "Dadu's" which probably carry stuff like that. Cheers!

Nice table, Jag. Is that stainless steel? *And* fresh flowers! V. nice. :-)

Hi Lise - the table isn't stainless steel at all - it's very thick, tough glass with a greenish/turquoise-ish tint - which has been covered with a layer of plastic film to prevent scratching. I know the picture doesn't convey this very well - but the unevenness of the plastic film (due to little air bubbles) is probably responsible for the photo looking like stainless steel texture. And the flowers yes - we do like to have fresh flowers on the kitchen table if poss - provides a peaceful aura. (And bowl of fruit on kitchen table is good karma in Eastern traditions.)
