Route 79

Why? - I like blog. It's kind of a new term for a new phenomenon. "Journal" or "Diary" refer to the reems of paper written to get things off one's mind, hidden in bound books on dusty shelfs and most impotantly not read by hundrets of people.

Either way, route79 is a great idea and a great, - well - "blog". :)

I agree... the word "blog" just feels good in the mouth - has a nice rounded, fun, sort of comfortable sound. Blog and be proud.

C'mon guys - don't try to persuade me: this has been bugging me for quite some time now. Not overtly - just niggling in the back of my mind. Until last night. I don't know what it was - perhaps just the mood I was in. Something in me reached tipping point and brought it to the front of my mind. At that point I just *had* to get rid of the term.

I agree with you both that it's a word that describes a new phenomenon and that it feels great to say etc.

But ...

Perhaps I'll get over it. Just give me time.

I am over at my mum and dads place today (in Leicester!) but I took my laptop along so that I could get an email fix when I needed one. Checked my journal as well.

OK - I give in - I have reintroduced the term - but this time in an animated bubbly, dreamy, montage of the words "blog", "journal" and "diary" - all juxtaposed with bastardised phrases from cinematic science fiction and relevant typefaces - in a colour scheme with a Route 79 styleee.

Weird I know - but at what I'm trying to get across is a FUSION of terms, colours, past and future.

I hope this will suffice. You win. I win.

Actually - I made a slight change: in blogspace - *everybody* hears you scream. Also - try hovering your mouse over the words in the bubble-vat - they temporarily stop. Play with it - it's very theraputic ...

"Blogging" recently made it to Radio 4's "You and yours" (or "You and your whingers", as we call it at home). The word "blog" is worth keeping just for the annoyance caused to the stuffy presenters, for whom even using one of these new fangled "Personal computers" is a step into the unknowns of technology. Goodness only knows what they make of mobile phones.

The reason for the mention in this programme? A blog set up to record real events suffered by people in a certain High Street electronics shop starting with the letter D.

Now that's what I call a blog!
